Eighth grade C-ra-Y champions, 1954-Janice Combs, Annette Fer- guson, Brenda Morrison, Barbara Martin, Laura Triplett, Nancy Cook, and Brenda Martin. Histor Music Festival in Greensboro. Thirteen members participated in ath- letics. After midterms, thirteen were initiated into the Beta Club. 0' fi 0' G 0 U' In the fall of 1956, fifty-six members trod the path back to I. H. S. as juniors. VVe realized we had a hard year ahead and tackled it with renewed anticipation. We welcomed our new principal, Mr. Swain, and settled down to work. A successful and exciting event was the junior play, Rehearsal for Death. Eleven students went out for sports that year. Hard work and cooperation brought ,around the night we had long awaited, the junior-Senior Prom and Banquet. Our theme was Springtime',. But the most thrilling time of our junior year was when we received our class rings. 15 5 U 5 5 So the well wom path brought us back for our senior year. The first week of school we began work on the Sth edition of the Blue Jay, soliciting ads from our ve cooperative business firms. We tackled the yearbook with enthusiasmrbut learned that it was work-but interesting. As we go to press, we've initiated the freshmen as television characters and placed 10 members on athletic teams. We are looking forward to the senior play and the trip to Washington. As we look into the past we see many happy and successful path- ways we have traveled and we realize that after we receive our diplomas we must choose other pathways and we sincerely hope that we will choose one that will lead us to a happier and more successful life.
