THIRD ROW: Bill Gott, Billy Etter, Dickie Jones, Freddy Spurlock. FOURTH ROW: Ronnie Gage, Ronnie Diggs, Bobby Kluge, Chip Latourette, Maurice Moye. Junior Varsity Coach, BUDDY BELL The ,l.H.S. Junior Varsity enjoyed the most successful year of football in many years. Eyen though they were short on experience and size, they held their own against some very formidable opponents. The play- ers acquired much knowledge and adeptness to be used in the making of next year,s Hurricane. They ended the season on a good note by trounc- ing the Burdette team 27-7. These boys will be depended upon to a great extent in the future as J.H.S.'s Junior Varsity continues to build the Hurricane.

The Jackets were held to a minus yardage by the stubborn Hurricane line. Gary Cole scored two touchdowns and Bill Harris the other. This win assured the gang of fourth place in the rugged Region 2AA. J HS-27 Paragould-7 In the 52nd edition of the annual Thanksgiving game with Paragouldl Jonesboro romped to a thrill- ing 27-7 win. Twelve seniors. who form thenucleus of this year's squad. ended their high school career. The Bulldogs were no. match for the best Hurricane team in several years. Jonesboro ended the season with a 0--l mark. the best since 195-I. and the Will to Win.
