School boards come across some enormous problems, and they spend many of their free hours discuss- ing them. They must keep an eye on their new building projects. then worry about how they are going to be paid for. Many other problems fall on the shoulders of the school board - overcrowded school rooms, setting school standards, and approving new teachers. Not many people would like to take over the job of having all those problems and making decisions that may influence the lives of everyone within the school district. The picture below was made while construction was taking place on the new music and physical educational building. 0' qv FARMERS STATE BANK - . 5 , , H I , '- -' f .Q . his T I-Qin! 9 I l -.'. Several projects were sponsored this year by the National Honor Society. One which has become an annual project was the making and selling of mums for the Homecoming and Thanksgiving games. The N.H.S. attempts each year to have at least three assemblies, consisting of the induc- tion of their officers and new members, a pay- assembly, and a citizenship program. Following a week of stressing citizenship, the N.H.S. con- ducted a program at which speeches on citizen- ship were made. Each year the society attempts to make enough money to present a worthwhile gift to the school. This year they presented the school with a set of flags.
