weed for scieniific training in +omorrow's world MRS. IVA KITCHENS, who received a B. A. from Birmingham-Southern and an M. A. from the University ofAlabama, teaches biology. In her spare time, she sponsors the Science Club. A real sportswoman, she en- joys fishing and hunting. fLower Lefty Creating an interest in science in her students is MRS. LEITA DENSON'S chief goal. She earned her B. A. and Master's de- grees from the University of Alabama. In ad' dition to teaching her biology and general sci- ence classes, she sponsors the Red Cross Club. She enjoys travelling, and she is also interested in photography. flsower Righty COACH MIKE BURNS, a new member of our faculty, teaches science and coaches football and track. While at Mississippi State University, where he obtained a B. S. de- gree, he played on the Varsity Baseball team. His favorite pastimes include golf, fishing, swimming, and archery. 'RR

Science Department keenlg aware of growing MR. L. S. SOMMERVILLE IR. , our new physics teach- er, received a B. S. in Physics at Alabama State College. He attended the De Vry Technical lnstitute in Chicago, and he has studied at Chicago University, Morgan State in Maryland, and Clark College in Georgia. Mr. Sommerville enjoys electronics and watching sports on television. 22 Holding a B. S. degree from Birmingham- Southern College, MISS RETHA ROZELLE is welcomed as Jones Valley's newest chemistry teacher. She also teaches General Math. Amid her busy schedule, Miss Rozelle also finds time to sponsor the Bank Board of Directors. She is quite an avid sports fan and also en- joys participating in several sports. Among her favorites are water skiing and snow skiing. al.

Maih teachers offer: hfig, algebra, analysis MR. DON SOUTHERLAND, after receiving his B. S. degree from Samford, is now working toward a degree in law. He teaches Algebra, and he also has a class of Geometry. He is interested in all sports and especially enjoys football. 24 MR. E. W. BRADBERRY, who holds a B. S. degree from Birmingham -Southern, heads the Math Department. He teaches Trigonometry, Analysis, and several classes ofAlgebra II. Mr. Bradberry also devotes a great deal of his time to the Senior Club, which he sponsors. He has many activities outside of school. His favorite pastime, without a doubt, is fishing. He also enjoys tennis and painting.
