i fy.. HFASHIONS AND FUTURES The stars of Iones have scored an- other hit, this time in the lones eighth an' nual style show given on October 28, 1949, at the Fair Store Auditorium. Every year Iones has a fashion show--not only to display the glamourous Iones models and gorgeous clothes, but also to dem- onstrate the dramatic ability of the lonesites, Fashions and Futures, the name of the show, got under Way with a musical directed by Miss Veronica Hyde. Songs and dances added a special touch to the fashion show that followed. A skit rep- resented sorne high school students thinking of what they would like to be in the future and, at the end of the show, seeing their dreams come true. Next came the main event of the evening: the lones girls modeling fash- ions from the Fair, Under the direction of Miss Foley, the girls were able to show oft the clothes to good advantage, par- ticularly since each student at lones receives special posture training in her regular gym classes. We owe our appreciation and grati- tude to Miss Gifford and her staff of the Fair Store, also to Miss O'Brien, Miss Fo- ley, Miss Gorman, Miss Murphy, Miss Hyde, and Miss White, who all helped make the evening the big success it was. CPEN HOUSE Gay crowds milled through the school at our annual Open House, and the atmosphere was filled with the ever-present air of friendli- ness, which is always a must at Iones. As our parents and friends began their tour of the school, the center ot attraction was the sign that hangs below the clock in the first floor cor ridor, which we all know reads SMILE Many ol our parents were delighted with special programs during the personality divif sion period. They were also pleased to find lones a place where their children can discuss problems that bother them. do--qw--N X The Ionesites' Parents Begin Their Tour A Pause For Needed Refreshment An Assorted Class Is Most Attentive The Seniors Display A Skeleton Outside The Closet 028s

The other officers, Elise Cohen and Dolores Stubbs, can vouch for this as they find it quite easy to take minutes and collect dues respectively.
