G. A. A. Tlie first day at Iones introduces cz newcomer to the G.A.A. This organiza- tion sponsors the Big Sister party that the 4B's give the 3B's, All the 4B's are Big Sisters, and all 3B's are Little Sisters, This is Just one of the programs that the G.A.A. schedules. As are most of the activities at Tones, the G,A.A. activie ties are centered ground the building of strong personalities, as Well as strong bodies. Our active officers are: Esther Sum- erdon, president, Mary Ann Benda, vice- president, Donna Byan, secretary, and Elsie Grenz, treasurer. The Girls' Athletic Association spon- sors the Volley Ball Tournament which began in December, This year as be- fore, the G.A.A. members sent books and other gifts to the veterans at Hines and Vaughan General Hospitals Miss Gorman, Tones' Physical Edu-A cation instructor, is the sponsor of the G.A,A. Farrar, Hun- sick, Carpenter, Luebbing, Kremske. Under the direction of their sponsor, Miss Galiano, the members of the Skating Club have been very active. The club throws many skae ting parties which bring out the entire student body who join in the fun. The members are ordinary lanes students who give some of their time to help others have a good time. Through the efforts of these girls and boys and their hard work we will continue to have a more and more active school spirit. All the letters in the alphabet could not de- scribe the fun one has at lones skating parties, two of which were given in the first semester. The first one took place at the Roller Bowl. lt proved to be a success but it was crowded be cause there were two other schools having a party on the same night. The second party was strictly for lonesitesf' Everyone had a wonderful time at this party. The club holds election of new officers each semester. The officers are elected by the members themselves in a truly democratic fashion, The enthusiastic officers for the first semester were: President , . , Esther Sumerdon Treasurer . . .Mavis Gustafson Secretary T i . i Marge Sumerdon Through the gallant efforts of these girls, the skating parties have been triumphant Lets give them a hand.
