The purpose of the club is to promote interest in the athletic program, and to reward outstanding athletes who participate in the three major sports. To become a member, a student must first win a letter in some sport. Soon after the club was organized, it adopted the policy of awarding every senior member a sweater. The sweaters are paid for with the membership fees, which are 251 per person, and with money raised from a concession stand at home ball games. For dd't' 1 a 1 lona money, the club sponsors each year a contest to elect a Monogram Sweet- heart.
