Faculty!  ' Who is A Face in the Crowd? A Face in the Crowd makes himself known by hard work and sacrifices. He could be an athlete or a scholar but he ' s always outspoken and well- known. The best examples of A Face in the Crowd in each class are the class officers and the class favorites, elected by the class members themselves. It takes special courage for a Freshman to stand up and be couoted, so the Yearbook Staff gives V ' a;sp ' eeial salute to the Class Officers w and Favorite? of l ci of ' 82 pre nt ' - h m ' . f jer ' Secretar Weas sheiT Jl rnic Je Pi imar Misheilaj ■. Aside from the many projects he organized for the Senior Class (candy sales, dances, the Best White Christmas Program), he also served as Co- editor of THE GROWL and THE GREYHOUND PRESS and was named Best Citizen and Most Considerate by his class. JACKIE CRISP, Vice-President of the Senior Class, is one of the most admired students at Jones County High School. Tuxedo-clad, she sang the opening number at the 1978 NIGHT OF ENTERTAINMENT. Few in the audience knew that, as she performed, she suffered from a serious spinal growth. After a dangerous operation and lengthy hospital stay, Jackie returned to become Senior Vice-President, French Club President, and Clubs Editor of the yearbook. JACKIE APPLING, Senior Class Secretary, one of the most spirited members of the class. She was a Varsity cheerleader and an active member of the Jones County High School Pep Club. She was also on the 1978 Homecoming Court. Aside from her responsibilities as Secretary during her Senior year, she will also be in charge of the Class of 1979 reunions. RENEE THERIAULT, Treasurer of the Senior Class, built quite a proud reputation during her four years at J.C.H.S. She served as Treasurer of the National Honor Society; she was a majorette for three years; she was selected Friendliest by the Senior class; and she was on the 1978 Homecoming Court. Renee is truly a face in the crowd. c I a s s f 7 9 Class of 79 81 Mike Adams Chet Albrycht Debbie Allen Barbara Appling Jackie Appling Grady Ard Christine Axom Alan Bailey Lynda Bailey Andrea Banks Teresa Barrett Alice Bivins Angela Bonner Daphne Bonner James Bonner Donna Brand Connie Braswell Donnie Braswell Demise Brock Nora Brock Jessie Brooks Steve Casteel Dorothy Chapman Harold Cherry- Sheila Cliff Cheryl Glowers James Coley Pam Hammond Caria Hancock Charlie Harris Ricky Harvey Linda Haynes A! GEORGIA 31032 TO THE STUDENT BODY: Being totally aware of the various social changes that we are experiencing in society, we hope the students, parents, and community will not allow themselves to forget the primary objective of the school, which is to enable young men and women to function productively in a modern day society as it relates to civic, social, financial and religious endeavors. If we are to reach our objective, we cannot, of necessity, allow the environmental changes to alter our expectations of students. We must insist that they get good foundations in the basics: READING, WRITING, and ARITHMETIC. We must strive to encourage them to understand, respect, appreciate, and abide by rules and regulations and respect the rights of others. We cannot let Jones County High School become a socializing parlor for teenagers if we are to master the challenge of the future. We would like to express our appreciation to the yearbook staff and advisors for their unselfish service and countless numbers of hours devoted to the school ' s annual. We would also like to congratulate the class of ' 79. As they go forth, may they uphold the standards of this school and serve in a manner which will reflect credit upon them as individuals and upon Jones County High School. yl - Cm 208
