Our learning ... our activity... our spirit... our leisure, Seasoned with conglomerations of ingre- dients - academics, sports, pep rallies, club doings, and out-of-school frolics with friends - a would-be dull routine year was miraculously transformed into action-packed thirty six weeks. Each day the halls rang with the hello's and laughter of students as they scuffled from class to class. When the bell signaled the finish of another day, some students rushed to jobs; some went home; some sought quiet places to study; and some stayed to tie up the loose ends of the day. “aay . Our Learning As one gets older, learning seems to be the main purpose of a school no matter how large or small the insti- tution may have been, With all the new improvements that were made this year, JCHS has stood higher than ever before in the field of learning. And with all the busy schedules in the day, everyone had the security of always knowing that, somehow, some- thing would be learned every day. Our Activities The school days having gone by quickly, the activities of our school seemed to have taken their part in each individual's life. Keeping the school active and progressive, all our clubs marched forward as each meeting occurred. Teaching, leading, and learning have all developed from our participation in the different phases of our school. In the future these positions will rank among our most precious memories. 7, LTE — Our Spirit The lifeblood of JCHS has flowed swiftly as the unforgettable moments and occasions occurred this year, An atmosphere that tingled with sincerity, nervousness, sadness, and happiness has been sensed this year and never again can be recaptured, In the future as we reminisce about the good ole days,’ feel a spark of pride as we remember how we caused our alma mater to be our hearts will the liveliest ever. Our Lvisure Although most schedules were already crowded with homework and school activ- ities, Greyhounds still managed to gather tidbits of time and to transform them into moments of leisure and frolic, Even though they tried to get away from the hours of study connected with school life, thoughts of other incidents and happenings always seemed to linger in their minds. No matter what, JCHS was always the nucleus of everyone's life for at least nine months of the year, Hrs. Jayre Laurence With the respect and gratitude that are so rightfully hers, we the 1968 Growl staff, dedicate this yearbook to Mrs. Joyce Lawrence, who has instructed us, encouraged us, and led us by her example, Always ready to understand, to sympathize, and to laugh, she has given freely of her time, her talents, and herself, She will always remain in the hearts of the students of 14 DNentonite: “Make him a scholar. - Fiddler on the Roof Aaministration TOP: Board of Education from Left to Right: Mr. Jesse Moore, Mr. Joseph Greene, Mr. Roy Washburn, Mr. W. This year the 1968 Growl staff has striven to tell the history of the past year in as many pictures as possible. Words for the story are not necessary for anyone since we have more candid shots than ever before, and more pictures of greater variety. The staff having worked together in hopes that this will be the best yearbook ever wishes that everyone will enjoy this year's story better than ever before. Hr. and Aliss IC HS. L y, J y, J , ) d .
