Scorhonmerss On Septenber 3, 1936 ths freshmen of 1955--36 were proud to become sophcmores ané preuder still to begin a new school year in the nev Suilding. We started out as the smallest class in Hien School and still romain so. we wore boginnins to think, howevor, that we were a class without a toacher or « room beccuse of all the changos to be made they wore alvays mad3 on us. ‘Je first occupicd the present science rcom ard our home room tcach- cr was Mr. Pulliam. Aftcrwarda we worc moved to tho pre- sent ninth grado room. Thoy thon tock Mr. Pulliam and gavo us Miss Louiso Young for a homo room teacher. This was Miss Young's first yoar of to2aching but she soon found out that thosc who appeared to bo such holy torrors, John Hawkins, Clayton Kitchens, and Alvin Tucker were just bluffs and although they worc pretty apt tp pop up at any time with such drv nonsonso that oven tho tcachor would ave to laugh, they could bo good students and give no trouble if they liked thcoir tcachor. ‘So we had no troublec. During the yoar wo have hed miny intoresting socials. Our first was a Christmas party at the Club houso and amid the fun and gaioty of the party the stove politoly gave way and coll -psed filling tho room with smoko and ruining suits and dresscs. This broke up tho party. Our sccond pirty was at tho home of Mrric Grecno where wo danced and promed. Our last partics woro at the homo of Mobloy Gamblc and John Hrvkins nd at Maudlyn Jowctt's.
