The Jones County Junior College Band has always been a great asset to the institution, enrolling every year a very large group of high school and col- lege students. During the year it has performed at the many football games, at chapel ceremonies--such as the one for sending off the Army Reserves- and at the Christmas concert. As an educational activity it offers valuable training to the students along the lines of sight-reading, organization, and technique. That the club would be predominantly liter- ary: that it would give opportunity to speak: that it would give an apprecia- tion of real art and learning-that is its goal. The club this year feels that it succeeded in achieving these objectives at the annual banquet-the most outstanding event of the year.
