Sounds Of Students Students scurry frantically in desperate attempt to be first in lunch line. Words from the coach of a victory to come bring encouragement to Alder's fans. The scuffle of shoes in the hall. . . Hurried conversations around the water fountain. . . Slamming locker doors, frantic scurrying to make a class. . . Chatter in the big study hall. . . Excited cheers at pep meetings. . . Roar from the parking lot at 3:17. . . . . .These are the SOUNDS OF STUDENTS. Minutes after the dismissal bell rings, the park- ing lot is filled with the sounds of squealing tires and flying gravel. i

Authoritative voices announcing oncoming tests. . . Energetic humans who try to make us see the light . . . Scratching of papers as exams are written and papers graded. . . Sighs and moans as one last effort is made to get the point across . . . . . .These are the SOUNDS OF TEACHERS. One of the never-ending loads of all teachers is the tedious task of grading many, many PAPERS! Typical reaction of an Alder teacher at the end of a frustrating day is por- trayed by Mrs. Sayre.
