The Declaration of Independence is a document of great impor- tance in our American History. This picture was chosen to be in our yearbook as a repre- sentative of our American Heritage. The Declaration of Independence was written by Thomas Jefferson and adopted at the Continental Congress in Philadelphia on July 4, 1776. All men are created equal, Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness, ” free and independent, ” pledge . . . our Lives, our Fortunes, and our sacred Honour. ” Such were the words written in this Declara- tion of Independence.
