Four consecutive matches were rained out. This caused the team to play four matches in one week. Mother Nature did not inhihit the teamis ability, however. Off year for Joliet West Cross Country harriers Cross country may not gain the recognition and praise that football, basketball, or baseball do, but it sometimes takes a bit more determi- nation to compete in this grueling sport. Since 1965 Joliet West has dominated the Joliet area cross country events. Fall 1968 was a seemingly off year for the Tigers, but a bad year for the Tigers would be a pretty success- ful campaign for any other team. West ended the season with a T-5 record including the conference championship and a second place in the Joliet area meet.
