Large expenditures of money purchased tasty foods which were provided to the students for a nominal fee. Foods such as spaghetti and veal served to keep body and soul together for the remainder of the school day. Maintenance spent over 890,000 for the up- keep and care of the school grounds. Other mis- cellaneous expenses added up to Sl06,300. Re- sults of the spending could be seen in the clean- liness and overall efficiency of the school. Necessary telephone services in the main office cost a sum near 87,750 Secretaries strived for conservation of supplies and ma- terials. Expenditures were limited to a maximum of 315,032 for the main office. Despite cuts in the budget, departments at joliet West operated as normal as possible pro- viding Tigers with essential services.
