Counseling, service areas guide, nurse, and assist Counselors worked closely with students on decisions pertaining to courses. New com- puter programming required advanced decisions with no option of dropping assigned courses. L'pperclassmen sought answers to bewildering problems: juniors inquired about tests, seniors questioned the aspects of different colleges, Slower students found relief in courses de- signed for their needs. New administrators, new I.D.,s reflect changes Mr. john Vanko, who assumed the position of principal, and Mr. Leroy Leslie, who left the basketball courts to become assistant principal, provided coordination between the adminis- tration's policies and the student's life. Alterations called for rearrangement of class periods to correspond with a shortened day. Administrators replaced six-week grading periods with four quarters. Polaroid units flicked 2349 times February 19-25, and students displayed plastic-coated I.D. cards. Mr. Donald Seitzberg supervised freshmen as their dean. Monitors warily obeyed under the watchful eye of Dean Seitzberg. Mr. Richard Samlin, sophomore dean, weathered the bitter cold to check parking permits which were issued only to a few select upperclassmen. Dean Guy Haines kept juniors and seniors in line. Revisions reporting absences sent blanks from the deans to homerooms. Dress codes left to the discretion of the deans cause this confrontation between Mr, Haines and the girl.
