Arrny Infantry School, was chosen as the theme for the fifty-first annual Xlilitary Ball. Wests ROTC served as host to Central and East at D'Amico's 214 on April 19, l968. jim McCoy, Battalion Commander, was general chairman of thc ball. Roy Cordon and his orchestra provided the music for the evening. Nlajor Nelson, Xlaster Sergeant Swinke, Sergeant Nlajor Matzen, and First Sergeant Allen were guests of honor. 1966-67 ROTC sponsors introduced the 1967- 68 sponsors through the arch of sahers. Corps participation included decorating Friday and cleaning-up Saturday. Underelass cadets served as doormen. checked coats, and helped with the refreshments.

Student Life Li,l Abner is presented as Westfs fifth operetta With cooperation and enthusiasm, A Cap- pella Choir presented Liil Abner as Westas fifth annual operetta. Mr. Roy johnson directed the Norman Panama and Melvin Frank produc- tion. Performances were held on Thursday, May 9g Friday, May 10g and Saturday, May 11, 1968, in the West campus auditorium. Mr. Peter Isabella directed Westls orchestra which worked hand-in-hand with A Cappella Choir to complete the production. Ed Nelson portrayed Lill Abner, the male lead, while Kay Fox held the female lead as Daisy Mae. HI was thrilled about the whole operetta. Having the lead role was a new op- portunity for me, and Mr. johnson was a fan- tastic helpfl remarked Kay. Paul Liebesher and Lois Lamberson held the supporting roles of Pappy Yolcum and Mammy Yokum. Through- out the operetta the Dogpatch dancers danced to A Typical Day, The Countryis in the Very Best of Hands, and the Sadie Hawkins Ballet,
