Couples attend semiformal, dates highlight social life As the school year progressed. more and more students found themselves joining the so- cial whirl of dating. In most cases, taking the initiative of asking for a date was left up to the boy, but the girls were also given their chances to take the first step. Giving girls a chance to reverse the dating cycle. the joliet West Treble Choir sponsored their third animal semiformal girl-ask-boy dance, After suggestions tor a dance theme had been submitted bv choir members, the choir voted upon the best suggestions and selected for their theme, Up, Up, and Away. Students danced to the music of Roy Gor- donis Orchestra under a canopy of clouds and silver stars in the West Campus cafeteria on March 2, 1968. Highlighting the decorations was a giant nine-foot weather balloon uclc Hoflier and Barb Rodgers sat on the sidelines between the sophomore and sity football games.
