Behind-the-scenes work, as in years before, was vital to communication within the school. Student Council Board, in coalition with the Senate, was able to advance much farther during 1969 than the year before. Student government was able to achieve more because it built on the organization left from the year before. Bigger than the improvement of the student government was the responsi- ble attitudes displayed by many students in the HLetter-to-the-Editorn column in Tiger Tales. Ideas were fresh and circulated with an air of understanding emerging. 242
