Student Council receives Salvation Army trophy Student Council members competed against the Joliet East Key Club to raise money for the Salvation Army. Standing at shopping centers, they beckoned to passers-by for contributions. NVest's student council won the contest by col- lecting S200 more than the Key Club. Student Councils funds and calendar com- mittees remained occupied throughout the school year. They planned and scheduled events for the entire student body. Besides Homecoming, Student Council spon- sored activities such Alumni Day, Faculty Appreciation Day, and a gym night, They were l also responsible for moving the victory light. It was moved after the approval by the new ad- ministration because common concensus disap- proved of its previous location. Representatives and alternates were chosen ' in each homeroom to serve on the Student Coun- cil Senate.
