Tigers capture second in Illini-Eight Conference Upon dropping a key game to Lockport Central by a score of S4-66, Alolict XVest saw its title hopes end, but took assurance in captur- ing the second-place berth in the Illini-Eight Conference. Having lost only three games in conference play, the Tiger varsity basketball team finished the season with a conference record of T-3. Highlighting the season were the showdowns with Lockport Central and Catholic High. Joliet VVest,s Craig Spiers and jerry Mabry were named to the 1969 first-string all-con- ference team.
