A Ax Mi l 2 I A Cappella Echoes a World of Music Powerful and resounding voices filled the auditorium as the ACappella Choir presented another concert. At the Armistice Day-Assem- bly the choir offered the moving Mass In Time Of War by Joseph Hadyn. This stirring perfor- mance was recorded for radio and records were made for purchase. Christmas festivities swept forward with a presentation by the A Cappella choir of traditional carols of the Yuletide. With Spring came the promise of the annual operetta. West Side Story, the modern version of Romeo and Juliet, was chosen for the special show. Choir members rushed into try-outs, drew up backstage committees, and set the wheels rolling on stage designs. Madrigals found a busy year and a full agenda ahead of them. These sixteen vocalists sang at private homes, meetings, and church dinners. Madrigals spread Christmas cheer by singing on city corners as well as an appear- ance at the Christmas Coronation. New madri- gals shared the excitement and pride of the group when they were announced at the final potluck dinner for the entire A Cappella. R. Goldhaber. THIRD ROW: M. Wilson, S. Alderson, J.
