Students Show Interest in Outside Activities Many students pondered thoughts of out- side activities as they realized that their high school activities would be somewhat curtailed. Basketball and football games still set the scene for many weekend dates, but for after- game activities and nights on which there were no games, students turned to outside sources. After a date or game, most students fre- quented one of the popular eating places. Stu- dent favorites seemed to triangle around the Whopper, the Red Barn, and the Dog N' Suds. Pizza lovers often found their way to Shakey's, one of Joliet's west side pizza par- lors. Shakey's offered a friendly atmosphere with its lively music and congenial mood. Boys and girls alike found enjoyment in an evening of bowling. Whether on a date or in groups, bowling provided recreation and a chance for competition among the couples. Popping corn was a way of beginning a quiet evening at home. Later in the evening couples could watch television or listen to albums. After a game, Alan Iberg and Debbie Lowery stop at Shakey's for a pizza. Gail Honiotes happily accepts Joe Fondriest's offer for a Friday night date
