King Mike Cookas and Queen Ann Calosio reigned at halftime ceremonies. Mike Cookas rises happily as he is announced Homecoming King, 1966. Circus Mood Unfolds a Week of Activities Signaling the start of Homecoming festivi- ties was the pep assembly held Monday in the gym. Candidates for court were announced. Halls were packed four deep with students watching the pageantry of colored cages and wagons during the parade Tuesday as the pro- cession marched in time to the bands' beating drums. Students voiced their choices for Home- coming candidates when voting took place Wednesday in homerooms. Dancing began in the gym as everyone was dismissed from school early on Thursday. Many students attended the after-school homecoming dance from three to five o'clock. Final activity for the week was the pep as- sembly on Friday. Skits were given and then, during the final moments, there was an aura of suspense in the gym as the royalty was pro- claimed. Mark Pederson crowns a happy Queen, Ann Calosio.

Circus Spotlight Focuses on Personalities Mike Cookas and Ann Calosio were chosen by the student body to reign as king and queen of Under the Big Top , homecoming of 1966. Both Mike and Ann were sponsored by the Let- lermens' Club. Mike was the first football player ever to be chosen king at West. Homecoming week found students casting pennies for the Bozo of their choice in the caf- eteria during lunch hours. At the end of the week, after pennies had been tallied, Sid Florey was announced Bozo. Riding his tricycle to the center of the gym at the Friday assembly, Sid received a sucker and cape. Profits made by the Bozo election were donated to the Junior Class.
