186 Joliet West Kiwanis West Award winners included Nancy Meyer. Pat Kosmerl, and Dave Humphreys. Other graduates who received Certificates of Commendation from the National Merit test included Anita Venzara, Judy Smith, Suzanne Ross, and Lee Letcher. Not pictured: Joyce Bristow. Scholars Receive Awards Students maintaining the highest scholastic aver- age of each class, plus fine character and citizenship merited the Kiwanis West award. One boy and girl from each class were selected for this honor. Graduates who scored favorably on the National Merit Scholarship test received Certificates of Com- mendation. One senior from West, Mike Jamieson, was chosen as a semi-finalist for this highly coveted schol- arship. Mike Jamieson fleftj received the Kiwanis West award as a junior and also was a National Merit semi-finalist. Pat Shuler received the Kiwanis West award as a freshman and was awarded a Certificate of Commendation.
