Ready to see a filmstrip on the new inventions in home appliances, the FHA talks awhile. Ned Grabavoy and his assistant show the girls how plain cakes can be turned into works of art by the simple methods of cake decorating. FHA Learns Art of Interior Decoration Living in an age of automation, the Future Homemakers of America explored the modern arts of running the home and family. Exchang- ing of gifts between the members took place during the Christmas festivities. This club was entertained by Rabbi Hershman, who expounded with eye-opening talk on morals and manners. Joliet baker, Mr. Ned Grabavoy, demonstrated the intricate art of professional cake decorating. Interior Decoration, a film, was viewed, giving the girls ideas for decorating their own rooms and their homes in the future. Debbie Klein and her mother led the group on a Scan- dinavian tour through the scenic countryside of Norway and Sweden. 100 FFA Venture to Convention at Kansas City Educationally I think it was worth the time I spent away from school, said Gary Woods as he spoke of the FFA trip to Kansas City, Missouri. Kurt Kuster, Dennis McPartlin, Dale Stafes, and Gary Woods represented Joliet at the week long National FFA Convention. These boys attended mock Congress meetings every morning at which two delegates from each state including Alaska and Hawaii were represented. Other FFA travels included a trip to Oregon where a Com- munication Workshop was held. FFA members participated in a number of judging contests. Various members entered competition in the Meat and Dairy Judging Con- test, while others preferred entry in the Sectional Grain and Poultry Show at Yorkville. During Na- tional FFA Week, the club sponsored a family and son potluck supper. Dave Hillesland, Ron Lingle, and Dan Davis were presented with an award for Land Use. FFA--FIRST ROW: P. Lemonta, P.
