Couples relax in the courtyard beneath the starlit sky A Final Gift sto the Graduating Seniors Juniors began early in December with the selection of a prom committee and the important theme choice. Sue Kempe and Ron Junck, as social chairmen of the junior class, headed the prom of '65. O Hana Mi became the title for the prom, and the cafeteria was to become a ballroom with a Japanese atmosphere. Under the supervision of their homeroom teachers and guidance counselors, the juniors started sketching a brief outline of decorations. As the deadline on Friday neared, students began to see many months of work taking shape as the cafeteria was transformed into a Japanese paradise. West's first prom was on its way to a huge success. Standing near an indoor tree, a lone senior couple took a last fleeting glance at the beauty that was theirs.
