Business Education Uffers Training for Clerical Jobs Business education offered the stu- dent a comprehensive view of the bus- iness world. Having provided courses for the student's personal use, it also gave an insight on future occupations. Courses which were covered in this field were typing, secretarial and cler- ical office practice, bookkeeping, con- sumer education, stenography, and general business. Participation in this curriculum lead many students into the business world. Preparing for their future careers, Nancy Davito and Sharon Johnson work intently in their typing class. Vic Gilborn shows the location of Joliet in regard to Will County, in his social studies class. Jean Kastle and Ed Minarich lead a discussion in their X-U.S. history class American Government Added to Social Studies Curriculum During the 1965-66 school year, the social studies department at West Campus provided a wide range of courses aimed at developing interest and understanding towards the many areas within this field of study. Courses offered included history, economics, sociology, and a new American government course which in- cluded the mechanics of government and dis- cussion on current political problems. With the knowledge of the social studies, the student will be better prepared to meet the challenges of adult citizenship.
