The Student Council every year sponsors many worth-while fund raising activities. The salc of programs at the fall football games is organized by this group. An important community activ- ity is the sale of peanuts for the polio drive. They also sponsor the Homecoming activities and Twirp Season. ln order to con- tribute to the Dollars for Scholars Fund. the Council conducted fudge sales and a shako sale. The Vocal Music Department of Joliet West, aside to being one of the largest departments, is also one of the most impressive. The black and gold robes of the A Cappella Choir and Madrigals have colored the stage with many outstanding performances. Their Spring Operetta is looked for- ward to with anticipation every year. J.T. West's musical talent is well displayed at the State Music Contest and again at the musical tradition established at J.T. Central is sure to continue in an even higher degree, in the coming years at J .T. West.
