MR. FOOTBALL DANCE BEGINS NEW ERA OF SOCIAL EVENTS The Mr. Football King, Queen, and Court stand with their dates: Dave Gruber: April Stevens. Sophomore Court: Jim DeWitt: Kay Booras, Senior Court: Wayne Videtich: Sue Warfel, Queen: John Honiotes, King: Sandy Hinton: Cindy Klootwyk, Junior Court: Richard Venegoni: Sandy Woldt, Freshman Court: and Chuck Zalar. Mr. W. W. Johnson, student council advisor, stands beside the tiger which crouched near the bandstand at the Mr. Football Dance. This tiger previously was on the A Cappella Choir float which won first place in the Mr, Football Parade. - WET' f w Buddy Everett and his orchestra provided the music for the student council 'lMr. Football Dance which was held in the Girls' Gymnasium. Since this was West High's first year, the Mr. Foot- ball Game and Dance took the place of homecoming activities. The Mr. Footballl' King and Queen, John Honiotes and Sue Warfel, and their dates, Sandy Hinton and Wayne Videtich, take the floor to lead at dance while their subjects look on. 125

The big moment finally arrives as Jeff Davis, Master of Ceremonies crowns West's first Mr. Footballl' Queen, Sue Warfel. 126 School loyalty is easy to recognize but difficult to exe plain or measure. This. West High's first year, has seen the birth of many interesting and beneficial traditions that are vitally important to school spirit.
