Adjourned sessions, study ses- sions, and regularly scheduled pub- lic meetings are only part of the board members' work. Their Work is as complex as the diversity of the educational program at Joliet Jun- ior College and as abundant as the steadily growing increases in eroll- ment. Whatever the nature of the work, it carries with it responsibil- ity that cannot be measured in clock hours. Perhaps it can be measured in the hopes of the citizens who elect them to work and in the aspirations of the students whom they serve. Thus, the Board of Education at work expresses the motto of Joliet Junior College - Carpe diem, to seize the day - and the theme of this year's Shield. .4 ' , - 1 2 'L WW A i si :Q -1 --r - iJ.g'g,1,:'x:q?wQ ig Q , ssrsxj-., - gt ,.. .,.-...J ffsfii 555591K ff A 55: 'fi' N Tfil t' ' V Sf -. -' ' 52 ' . , Ms 1 ' gd Q ' ' .
