GRADUATION What is a diploma? It's a piece of paper. lt's a reward for two years of work-the sum total of sixty-six semester hours of credit. lt's a re- minder ofthe good times and the hardships-all which form the college experience. lt is a symbol-a symbol of a goal attained, an education completed. Also it can be a marker to be followed by similar ones. And yet it can be the sign of a beginning ofa different way of life that will be altered by what was learned while attaining the diploma. Dr. Suren Seron, president of the board of education, presents a diploma to Carol Sue Burnham as William Ciluffo waits. Jan Johnson serves as the stu- dent speaker at the graduation exercises. Dr. Robert G. Bone, main speak- er, addresses the assemblage.
