Tmvel . . . After ma.ny weeks of anticipation and planning, january 24th finally rolled around, and thirty-five anxious and ex- cited HC students, under the sponsor- ship of Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Bondar, left junior college at 4:30 bound for Iron Mountain, Michigan. The bus ride was an experience in itself. Finally at 1:30 a.m. the bus pulled into the Hillcrest Motel, rooms were assigned, and everyone got situated. At 2:30 things were rather calm and quiet, but at 2: 31 things got to jumping. Bright and early Saturday morning, everyone boarded the bus and proceeded to the Pine Mountain ski slopes. After several hours all had their skis and were trying them out. What antics! Going down the slopes backwards, running into other skiiers, and skiing with knees to- gether and feet far apart are only a few examples of the beginners' first runs. That night everyone went ice skating fto pick up a few more bruisesy a.nd then dancing lWho could sit?J. It had been quite a day!! Sunday morning no one looked good, but this was disregarded as everyone proceeded to try another day of skiing. At 2:00 p.m. some were still taking lessons, and others had given up for good. At 3:30 they all said good-bye to Pine Mountain and began the long trip home with the skiers, the bus, and Pine Mountain all the worse for wear! .... But the skis are so big! laughs Marilyn Flynn as she takes her first steps.
