Class of 1940 Every new group of Freshmen that enter Junior Coitege teeis that it adds something to the organization, hut this time we are contident that we have con- trihuted a tittie e-xtra. One of the dominant traits among our Freshmen this year has heen their un- seitishness. Everyone cooperated wiii- ingiy and heiptuiiy at ati times. Our Freshmen showed a great cteai of initia- tive and enthusiasm for the tasks they were asked to undertake. The main sociai event of the year which was entirety under the ieactership of Freshmen was The March Twirif' Chairmaned hy our President, Bch Murphy, the dance was one of the most successful that Junior Cotiege students have ever attended. Jack Guerin was the chairman ot the decorations, and it is iargeiy through his woric. aiong with his committee, that the attair was a success. The Costume Batt, given in January under the co-chairmanship of Agnes Turman and Dick Powell. also was greatiy indebted to the artistic ahiiities of Jack Guerin. The otticers of the Freshman ciass are Boh Murphy, Biii Stephen, and Bah Biacictxurn, who never shiriced any responsihiiity that feii to their iot. Along with their scholastic duties, these tmoys stitt found time to help anyhocty in any way they couid. it there has heen any iceynote that can he struct: regarding the activities of the Freshman ciass, it is that it has set an example ot willingness to co-operate with att who had accepted responsibility and to help them and to give their time, their energies. and do ati with their whoie soui. mama- M. J J C Activit I Junior College- students worla hard and play hard. Although their days are filled with the many subjects they must conquer. still prac- tically everyone Finds time to enjoy himself. The activities and curricula presented are hoth numerous and various. Even if we can not all he winners, we find ourselves having a good time, and, what is even more important, we learn to he good losers. The above photographs show us many of the personalities that are often seen around school. The tennis courts across the street offer to many of us a chance to hetter ourselves in this sport. Of course, our gyms are a source of never- ending pride to all of us. They are among our higgest assets in presenting us with a way to huild a healthy hody. Vve are proud of our library. too. it is a fine place in which to build a healthy mind. Then. from the appearance of the photo- graphs, it ioolis as though we all enjoy the out-of-doors.
