ntroduetion To Graduates Deutsch, Svc.: Long, Pres., lxlcfinvncy, Vicefpres. In Retrospect Although two years is a comparatively short span in the lives ol Junior College students. our class of '39 leaves behind memories of achievements any class would be proud to possess. sophomores success- fully headed our College Club, Blazer. VV.A.A., the basketball team, Student Council, and the Honor Roll. Through the work of the sophomore class. together with the freshmen, i959 was made an enjoyable- social year. The fall formal, the spring formal, the costume ball, mixers, and roller skating parties all prove this fact. Headed during the First year by Dick Hutchinson. Ray Sloul, and Bob Dowse. the class of '59 got off to a good start. The-y kept up the good work during the following year under such able officers as Orrin Long, Ellsworth lVlcGovney, and Joe Deutsch. Orrin, a student of debate and one of our leading actors, was one of the most willing workers in llc. Ever-ready to help out in problems of any kind, u0rrie led the class in a way to be commended. The vice-president was not lar behind President Long in making '39 a year to be remembered. ulylagoozfy as he is lamiliarly known, worked hard on everything he undertook, and he was a faithful member of the Student Council. A familiar figure around school was the class secretary, Joe Deutsch. The only thing one needs to say about Joe is that he always had the best inte-rests of the school at heart. As our yell leader. he kept up the spirits of our college students at the basketball games. He continued this in other school activities, With such line leaders as these, it is no wonder that the class of '39 leaves an indelible impression in the annals of Joliet Junior College. Page Seven
