One representative is elected from each homeroom, thus every student has at least an indirect voice in his school's governmental issues. An annual event of the Student Council is the fall dance. This year the dance, Autumn Nocturne , was held October '22 under the general chairmanship of Bev Almberg. We'll Clean Them Up was the theme of the Home- coming float sponsored by the council. Civic-wise, the council supported the March of Dimes campaign and the Crusade for Freedom drive. The group is very proud of Chuck Paton, who was chosen as a representative to the Teen-Age Traffic con- vention in Chicago. Meetings of the council are held on alternate Mon- days. The Inner council is composed of Vicki Bunting, president, Darlene Renwick, vice-president, Connie -.24Y Cowing, secretary, Dave Cade, treasurer, and chairmen Bev Almberg, social, Chuck Paton, booth, Sue Fleming, assembly, Kay Bussey, welcoming, lack Snider, public- ity, and Mel lager, constitution. Pallaje Glad The Brush and Palette club is a comparatively new group. lt was organized in 1050 under the sponsorship of lfarl Kurtz. Nancy Attaxvay, president, Tom Saiko, veep-publicity, Tom Manley, secretary-treasurer, and Bob Wfinterstein, program chairman, cooperated in pro- moting greater understanding and appreciation of art. Varied activities and proj ects such as field trips, sponsorship of a Homecoming float, the annual Christ- mas party, a spring picnic, and student exhibits point- ed to greater prestige for the club. Lectures included talks on water color composition by Mrs. james Car- penter, ceramic work by Mrs. Kay Denning, and pic- tures and slides on the Mexican trip of Mrs. Alieda Pe- tersen, a retired faculty-member. Lx' Goin ancf Sllamp Glad Encouragement of an educational hobby is the key purpose of the Stamp and Coin club, lt provides a chance for the H hobbyists to meet for trading, com- paring, and, in general, learning more about their avo- cation. With the approval of C. B. Petersen, sponsor, a var- ied program was set up for the year. lt consisted of talks by club members, lectures by outstanding collectors, slides, movies, auctions, and a spring stamp exhibit.
