CONCERT BAND This year the band had as its officers Bob fdlamilton president Doyne McReynolds vice president Laurie Ahti secretary and Milton l ewis treasurer Archie McAllister was the drum major Charlene Brown the sponsor and ames Gross the twirler The climax of the bands activities after a Vtar of playing for all the home football and basketball games plus many unior College games and presenting three major conce ts in rl t auditorium came when it was invit d to go to los Angeles California to play at the Mtlsic lducators conference The band left oliet March 75 after play ing a three day engagement at the Rialto theatre 'lhe first scheduled concert was played in E1 tht boys were shown an excellent time by the studtnts and by the hospitable people of the city T rom there the band went to Los Angeles which was the key city for the following week They played concerts at many of the schools in and around the CltV and at the University of Southern California The most important con cert of the trip was of course the one in the Philharmonic Auditorium for the Mtlsic Edu cators After the concert the band received an ovation that lasted until the boys had left the stage After leaving Los Angeles they next stopped at Las Vegas Nevada to play a concert and view the Boulder Dam and then went on to Salt Talxe City Utah to ste the Tabernacle lrom Salt Lalce they traveled to Omaha Neb where they played for very enthusiastic and tppreciative audiences 1n the Central High School at Boys Town band arrived home April 9 to be greeted by the entire student body and visiting bands THE ORCHESTRA Continued from Page 16 also played as a part of the Spring concert The Ensembles personnel is as follows Lorraine Klnsley Catherine Guso and enny Ellen Car son Violins Mary Eeatherston Flute and Viola oyce Maxwell Viola Marjory McLain zl Arlene Smith Cellos and Ethel Maxwell Piano Two extra groups that played for many civ ic groups were the Flute uartette composed o Nancy Eord Mary Eeatherston cl el Con verse and Carl Kircher and the orchestra trio composed of Williaixm Brayden French Horn Mary Eeatherston Flute and lthel Maxwell PIRHO During the year several parties were given fo the orchestra by the Orchestra Boosters associ ation The officers of the association are Mr Charles Bltm Mr Andrew Smith Mrs Williattx Schmidt and Mrs Williant Turndahl l . , , , . . - 1 1 a K 4 ' , , r t V ' I I Q , , .. .. - .' . 4 , . , r . q - . 1 K - H 2 t r 4 , . . . . . , 1 - , 1 1 - . , K e V - .. , A . , . . .' , , r 1 , ' x I , H . .t , K , . . . . , .
