SR. M. RITA ROSE, O.S.F. Spending her third year at JCHS, Sr. Rita Rose teaches soph and iunior English and Freshman Communication Arts. Sister is also moderator of the Spark. MlSS MAE FAULKNER One of Joliet's outstanding teachers and principals, Miss Faulkner spends her time guiding the students to good literature and handling the visual aids films. MRS. VERNON MURPHY Mrs. Murphy can be found in the main office where she acts as secretary to the Principal and the Registrar. I2 MISS LILLIAN BRULC A new member of the faculty, Miss Brulc teaches fine art and two sections of arts and crafts. MRS. MICHAEL VERNARDI Mrs. Vernardi assists in the Bursar's of- fice where she handles all the financial books of the school and operates the switchboard. SR. M. SIENA, O.S.F. For the past two years Sr, Siena has been instructing Juniors in World History and Freshmen in Ancient and Medieval History. MISS CATHERINE HIMES Author of a text on writing, Miss Himes puts her theories into practice by teaching Creative Writing to the Sophomores. MRS. LOUlS RICKLEMAN Acting as study supervisor and student counsellor in the library, Mrs. Rickleman is also the school nurse.

FR. MARIUS R. ZADINSKI, O. Carm. Fr. Marius is the school librarian and teaches freshman and sophomore English. FR. MEL R. KIELTYKA, O. Carm. The new assistant Dean of Students is Fr. Mel. He also teaches math and senior religion, and moderates the frosh YCS. BRO. GILBERT L. PERREAULT, O. Carm. Bro. Gilbert teaches typing and assists in the book store. Answering doorbells and telephones takes up much of his day. BRO. BRENDAN J. CALLAHAN, O. Carm. Bro. Brendan helps take care of the campus and the priory. BR. MARIO A RUSSO, O. Carm. Bro. Mario is the moderator of the Knights of the Altar. He is the Sacristan of the school and moderates the Knights of the Altar. BRO. WlLLlAM K. O'BRlEN, O. Carm. A recent addition to the JCHS faculty, Bro. William has taken over the duties of prefect of the library and handles the school's duplicating machine.

MR. DONALD BERG Newly appointed varsity basketball coach, Mr. Berg is also Athletic Director at the Hill. In addition to these duties he teaches physiology. MR, EDWARD KOPP Supervisor of the Industrial Arts De- partment, Mr. Kopp instructs the under- classmen in woodworking, coaches the frosh-soph baseball team, and can also be found directing the gym changes for the Hill's many activities. MR. JOSEPH McFadden A 1950 JCHS graduate, Mr. McFadden teaches U. S., world history, is the mod- erator of the Blue and Grey club, and coaches track and freshman football. MR. GORDON GILLESPIE The new head football coach is Mr. Gillespie. Along with coaching the foot- ball squad he puts the students thru a daily workout in gym class. MR. ROBERT MCNULTY The hard-clriving band director of JCHS is Mr. McNulty. His tireless zeal has pro- duced a marked increase in the prestige and performance of the Hilltop band. MR. JAMES BRINKMAN In addition to teaching music apprecia- tion and speech, Mr. Brinkman is the director of the JCHS choral group, The Melody Men. He also assists Mr. Mc- Nulty with the band. MR. JAMES GANNON Mr. Gannon teaches world history and practical math. He is head frosh-soph football and basketball coach, and also varsity baseball coach. i ' . fc MR. CHARLES MCAFEE Mr. McAfee spends his time teaching drafting, general metal, and industrial de- sign. MR. ANTHONY JANC Mr. Janc teaches English and math at the Hill in addition to his iob as trainer of the JCHS athletic teams. He is a grad- uate of Mount Carmel in Chicago and of Lewis College. I3
