CLASS HISTORY some say that the greatest thing that has happened to nn is stclic energy, others say women, and others say the new Chevrolet, but the greatest thing that has happened to the Joice High School is the seniors of 1957 On a bright summer day in August, seventeen green freshmen entered the Joice High School for the first time to start their high school life me first week we had our first class election. Dennis Tweed was elected as president, Connie Abraham as vice president, Gary Roath as secretary, Mary Alice Clark as treasurer,and Dianne heed as reporter Our first class adviser was Mr. Ott The main event that happened this year was initiation in which we had a fine time washing buses and parading up town. In the fall of '5h,, fourteen eager sophomores enrolled in school. We were sorry to see Dennis and Dianne Tweed and Sharon msc leave us. Dennis and Dianne went to Lake Mills to school and Sharon went to Nevada to finish their high school years. During this year Vivien Aasland was elected president, Keith Anonson as vice president, Loretta Evans as secretary, Connie Abraham as treasurer, and Judy Williams as reporter Mr. Leonhart was our adviser The main event durin our sophomore year was initiating the freshmen. This, to us, seemed like a lot of In our junior year we started with fourteen members in our class. Later, we are sorry to say, we lost two more out of our class may were hymond Smldt and Judy william Raymond moved to Forest City and went to high school there and Judy moved to Mason City to continue her high school education. The class officers of our class were Arlyn Harang as president, Jerry Fibelstad as vice president, Marilyn Lindflott as secretary, Vivien Aasland as treasurer, and Ronald Bakken as reporter. There were many important events that occurred during our Junior year. 'me first and probably the most exciting was the receiving of our class rings The next important event was our class play which was entitled, 'Just Ducky', and was directed by Mrs. Slattum The cast consisted oft Mr Maxwell Ronald Bakken Mrs. Maxwell Marilyn Lindflott Betty Lou Sharon Malloy Bernadine Connie Abraham Wilbur. . Jerry Fibelstad Hercules .Keith Anonson Connie Loretta Evans Craig Moore .Arlyn Harang Del Marshal Gary Roath Aunt Mary Mary Alice Clark Miss Blayne Vivien Aasland The last event, but by no means uni ortant, was our Junior Senior bancuet It was held on Wednesday evening, April 18, at O p m in the Hotel Albert at Albert Lea, Minnesota 'lhe theme for the banquet was Evening in Paris' We got off to a good start in our senior year by electing Ronald Bakken for presi- dent, Marilyn Lindflott for vice president, Vivien Aasland for secretary, Chry Roath for treasurer, and Sharon Malloy for reporter We chose Saturday, October 29, as the day to take our graduation pictures We had a hard time finding excuses for the way some of them turned out. The next event in our senior year was our senior class play This was held on Friday evening, October S, at 8 O0 p m with an encouraging audience to help us along The cast was as follows Ha Smith Marilyn Lindflott Pa Smith .Ronald Bakken Tony Smith .
