Dennis Tweed was elected as president, Connie Abraham as vice president, Gary Roath as secretary, Mary Alice Clark as treasurer, and Dianne heed as reporter Our first class adviser was Mr. Ott The main event that happened this year was initiation in which we had a fine time washing buses and parading up town. In the fall of '5h,, fourteen eager sophomores enrolled in school. We were sorry to see Dennis and Dianne Tweed and Sharon msc leave us. Dennis and Dianne went to Lake Mills to school and Sharon went to Nevada to finish their high school years. During this year Vivien Aasland was elected president, Keith Anonson as vice president, Loretta Evans as secretary, Connie Abraham as treasurer, and Judy Williams as reporter Mr. Leonhart was our adviser The main event durin our sophomore year was initiating the freshmen. This, to us, seemed like a lot of In our junior year we started with fourteen members in our class. Later, we are sorry to say, we lost two more out of our class may were hymond Smldt and Judy william Raymond moved to Forest City and went to high school there and Judy moved to Mason City to continue her high school education. The class officers of our class were Arlyn Harang as president, Jerry Fibelstad as vice president, Marilyn Lindflott as secretary, Vivien Aasland as treasurer, and Ronald Bakken as reporter. There were many important events that occurred during our Junior year. 'me first and probably the most exciting was the receiving of our class rings The next important event was our class play which was entitled, 'Just Ducky', and was directed by Mrs. Slattum The cast consisted oft Mr Maxwell Ronald Bakken Mrs. Maxwell Marilyn Lindflott Betty Lou Sharon Malloy Bernadine Connie Abraham Wilbur. . Jerry Fibelstad Hercules .Keith Anonson Connie Loretta Evans Craig Moore .Arlyn Harang Del Marshal Gary Roath Aunt Mary Mary Alice Clark Miss Blayne Vivien Aasland The last event, but by no means uni ortant, was our Junior Senior bancuet It was held on Wednesday evening, April 18, at O p m in the Hotel Albert at Albert Lea, Minnesota 'lhe theme for the banquet was Evening in Paris' We got off to a good start in our senior year by electing Ronald Bakken for presi- dent, Marilyn Lindflott for vice president, Vivien Aasland for secretary, Chry Roath for treasurer, and Sharon Malloy for reporter We chose Saturday, October 29, as the day to take our graduation pictures We had a hard time finding excuses for the way some of them turned out. The next event in our senior year was our senior class play This was held on Friday evening, October S, at 8 O0 p m with an encouraging audience to help us along The cast was as follows Ha Smith Marilyn Lindflott Pa Smith .Ronald Bakken Tony Smith . Remember how he used to that stuff? He's turned his knowledge to good Yes, indeed It was he who furnished the splendid weather for the Old Home Week, and that is why he was so wildly applauded Every day he sends out his little bulletins and often the weather is just as he predicted A man is sketching the people as they come in and doing it very well, hdeed, for I peer over his shoulder to see Of course you know who that is Yes, 1t's Gary Roath They say he has become quite famous as an illustrator of magazine stories and newspaper articles Remember his drawings in study hall? can't tell who he is Ah,he waves his who he is! Jerry Fibelstad And what love astronomy and meteorology and all account and now he is the weather man. in the auditorium fades and the footlights flash on Before the packed house appears a tall, dipnifiel figure who makes an eloquent address of welcome Some of the well turned phrases sound pleasingly familiar I remember our famous class speaker, Arlyn Harang It is, indeed him He was a lawyer for a time and now is a judge of the state supreme court He acts as master of cer monies, also, and after his excellent speech introduces the perfonners. The Judge announces that after the entertainment refreshments will be served through the courtesy of Miss Loretta Evans, who is proprietor of the delightful Old Home Tea Room As he speaks the words, my mouth waters in anticipation, for I haven't forgotten the delightful refreshments she served when she entertained the class, yaus ago New the entertain ent proper begins Miss Glorianna De Lorme, the famous novk actress, and it is our old friend, Connie Abraham, very much changed She has black hair and is better looking than ever and seems to have aceuired a foreign accent Now she's dropped the accent and is taking as she used to talk She's telling about Hollywood and how she became famous She asks if we remember the imitations mm used to do in study hour when the teacher was called out of the room And we all remember It's no surprise to us that she's such a success in the pictures That girl couldgiay anything, from Juliet to Mother Goose THIS PAGE SPONSORED BY R0 ,ALB LAKE MILLS CREAMERY COMPANY Acids Ni,,,nfgIgEfJCmNERY soon BUTTER, MILK at ICE CREAM LME WHS, mm LAKE MILLS, 1owA in . The light O 0 O Next is course, 1t's She has just ier than she Class Prophecy continued a famous accordionist who plays the most beautiful music for us Yes, of Mary Alice Clark, and she plays even better than we slwayssaid me would returned from s concert tour in Europe In fact she returneda week earl had intended, just to attend the Old Home Week celebration The spotlight is now shifted to the great auditoriu organ, and the Judge introd uces Marilyn Lindflott, now organist in a city church and teacherin an institute of organ music She plays beautifully and looks not a day older than when she played in the school orchestra Then the entire audience r1ses,ss the performers all appear on the stage at once Our organist and our accordionist play 'Auld Lang Syne and adjourn for the promised refreshments from Loretta Evans' Old Home Tea Room. It has been a real delight to see all our old frbnds so young andyrosperous,so generous of their money and talent In short,1t has been an Old Hbme Week to be proud of and the old home folks should be happy to have such celebrities as these for their very own Marilyn Lindflott Ronald Bakken Vivien Aasland CLASS GIFTS According to Webster a gift is The act or power given, or s natural ability or talent We the senior power to give some of our most cherished belongings to as much wear it of giving, the thing that is Class would like to use this the under classmen Keith Anonson give to Larry Dietrich this pair of boxing gloves so that you Ronald Bakken give to Lynn Schmidt this map of Northwood in hopes that he has fun there as I did fMapJ Sharon Malloy give the record 'The High and Mightyn to Wayne Medlang Don't out Wayne KRecordD Komer Johnson give this pail of sand to Jerry Otterstad to fill 1 all the holes he made starting out with his horse fPai1 of sand!
