NOTORIOUS PUBLICISTS The Faculty VIRGEAI AAMODT wills h rself to Lake Millszand her giggle to Judy Cal X V -ilk Ah. Leo Anderson, a renowned scientist, who was exploring the planet of Mars, one day decided that he would like to know what his earthly clas mates had accomplished He took his large telescope which was a 200 inch palomar, settled down in his easy chair and began staring in o space The first object which came to his eyes vas that of a beautiful mansion Feeling curious he decided to peer into one of the windows and see to whom the house belonged The person he saw surprised him so much that leo dropped his telescope Such financial success as this he had certainly not expected Gloria Dahl, now known as a Mrs was hur riedly dressing her two children for school while her husband stood by trying to decide which car he should drive to the office Soon the children left the house and leo decided to follow them to school for curios1ty's sake He was very glad that he had for who should he spot in the schoolhouse, but Ardella Evenson, who was teach ing Physics Upon thorough investigation leo learned that she had married a Superintendent of Schools and had taken up teaching for the sake of being near her husband as much as possible After satisfying himself that two of his classmates h d accomp lished much, leo decided that he would have to check on the rest H1 eyes now wandered upward and caught the sight of a space ship floating in the air Being the inquisitive type, and not having seen an air plane since he arrived on Lars, Leo sought to observe the interior of the airskip The sp ciousness of the plane astounded him, for he had not seen such luxury in his life His eyes then caught sight of a trim attractive air stewardess who was helping make the passengers comfort able As she drew closer Leo realized that it was someone he had been associated with at some previous time Sure enough it was Mary Anne Malloy, who was one of the worlds outstanding stewardesses and who was now on the space ship which was on the way to the moon Probably the plane would stop at Mars, at least he hoped it would The plane then flew out of sight and leo was left once again star ing into space His eyes then fell on a huge beautiful farm Wonder ing who owned such a nice place, Leo decided that he would spend some time looking things over He soon spotted Cecil Rusley giving - ders to his hired men he also found out that Cecil had remained a bachelor. Even though he could have married most any woman around, he had chosen to remain single as none of them reached his high expecta- tions. Feeling that Cecil had done all right for himself, leo's thought wandered to Florene Stensrud. Yes !He must see what success she had attained. The first object which came to his eyes was the John Hop- kins Hospital. Remembering that Florene had wanted to be a nurse, he decided to peer inside. Sure enough he spotted her and found that she was now Head Nurse at the hospital. She too had remained single up to this time as she could not decide which man she should make her doctor for life. Next Leo caught sight of a large body of water which appeared to be the Atlantic Upon it sailed a huge ship which had the makings of a beautiful palace As Leo strained his eyes he caught sight of another familiar figure It was Gwendolyn Lien who was now making her third million by touring Europe with her latest invention which was the 're flectorscope H Little had people realized that the physics project she had started as a senior would ever reap uch enormous profits His eyes moved from the ship and Leo found himself staring at a high skyscraper Inside he spotted Virgean Aamodt who had attained the high position of chief editor of the New York Times He later learned that in all actuality, Virgean had merely married the Chief Pditor and had then taken it upon herself to become chief of the house and chief of the paper also So far Leo was very much pleased with his fellow classmates He still had three more left, however, which he must observe under his mighty telescope Madison Cquare Gardens now came into view and Leo be gan reminiscing of the good old days when he had played basketball with Robert Calgaard Sure enough Bob was out on the floor and had just fin ished making a field goal which brought his total points up to 2,COO Leo than spotted over on the bleachers a group of little dark haired brown eyed boys fairly bursting with enthusiasm The great scientist took pity on the poor basketball teams which would some day play opno site the Calgaard Clan Shirley Slattum now flashed into the mind of Leo He still had to spotted the 20th Century Qtudios in Hollywood He watched through his telescope for quite some time and then found that for which he had been searching Shirley Qlattum was absorbed in taking dictation from her boss Leo soon found out that Shirley had been very interested in her dictator for the past twenty years but could not get up enouvt nerve to pop the final question There was now one more classmate Leo needed to observe by means of his telescope Pictured before him was the Metropolitan Opera House in New York On the stage stood Bonnie Aasland who was one of the world's outstanding singers Marriage offers had been plenteous but Bonnie had refused them all as she chose to raise songs instead of a family After having viewed all his fellow classmates and knowing that all had reached the very highest goals of attalnment, Leo decided that he must once again return to his scientific research He now adjusted his telescope that he might view the heavenly bod ies around him Just then he spotted a new beautiful planet whlch was larger and more m8gD1f1C6Ht than Mars Leo was over joyed and decided at once that this new planet should be named Joice, after his old home town For it was there in the Joice Public School that Leo and all his good old classmates had gained new experiences, learned new knowledge and the other very important factor of life which had made each student such a wonderful succe s find out what goals she had attained.
