It would be difficult to enumerate all the tasks that fall to the board, the ad- ministrative body of control. They make policy-they give advice-they appoint, and elect, and direct, and counsel. They pay bills. Board meetings are always opened and closed with prayer, and the Spirit of God is always considered the Chief Guide and Counselor in all decisions. There is also some humor mixed in with the dead seriousness of each meeting. There are times when this seems neces- sary to relieve the tensions. There is no attempt to do anything but what the patrons who elect the board would desire. They are not a censoring group, nor are they dictatorial. They con- stantly seek guidance from everyone. A wonderful spirit of co-operation marks their working. Between them and the teachers there seems to be only the finest co-operation. It is no secret that the chief problem the board ever faces is that of finance. It is hoped that before many more months roll around a more stable financial structure can be realized. This would make the work of the board so much lighter and would save much midnight oil. Cod bless the board of johnstown Mennonite School!
