You have parents that ' have taught you from childhood those precious virtues that , build sterling character, They have invested you. They bought you food, clothing, and the They chose to send you to a Christian school, heavily in , extra thinms. which meant additional costs, even to the point of denying themselves, at times, of such things as new curtains or new floor cover- ' ings or a new model car. Literally, they have invested several thousands of dollars in you. Your teachers here have given you additional help at a sacrificial price. The patrons' qroup, as a body, have ex- pended additional dollars to make this kind of training possible. Now you are stepping out on your own. People are watching you carefully and not always too fairly. They ex- pect graduates of J.M.S. to make no mistake--to do things right, and always be the ideal person. A wrong move will not only reflect on you but on the school, The school, most definitely on your home and especially, will feel the sting of criticism if you get into the wronq crowd of companions, choose a bad job, marry the wrong person, or perhaps Kinci- dentallyl fail to behave in church. Can you, wlll, you be true to your innermost convictions and the ideals implanted into you? That is my chief concern. I am concerned, of course, that you SERVE Him in some useful wavy but, above all that you first LIVE for Him, for criticism or no criticism, it is, after all, our obligation to do what is right for the sake of right. In this difficult task I wish you God's special blessing. Sincerely yours, , Shetler SGS:mjm -W a- .v-.N , Y, .1
