A teacher's contribution to the good of a school depends, in a considerable measure upon the organization in which he works. It is upon this assumption that your Board of Education is trying to carry out its duties and assume its reponsibilities. The Board is interested in obtaining a principal and teachers of high Christian character and scholastic attainments. We have tried in good faith to provide our school with such teachers. The school and patron body are proud to support them, Our annual budget for maintenance is always a hard problem to face. There have been many times when we have been humanly against the wall but the Lord showed us a way out, The Board is deeply concerned for the development of the school system in terms of the achievements of pupils, teachers and principal. The Board is doing all it can at present to provide additional classrooms. By recommendation from the Board and Patron Body approval, construction began this past summer., When the present structure is completed there will be three class- rooms with some auxiliary rooms. A gymnasium-auditorium section is planned to be constructed as soon as funds are available. In providing school equipment, pupil supplies and teachers' helps, the Board is trying to do its best. We know that without the guidance of the Holy Spirit our work as a Board, teachers and patrons would be futile. The Lord's blessings be on all concerned at Johnstown Mennonite School. - Harold E. Thomas, Chairman 3
