rincqoafb media 2 The beginning of any project is most certainly not the end . These are the words that I wrote for the first principal's message in our first Mem -O-Re, eight years ago: The school was then two years old, and the message continued, We are yet in the pioneering stage of our school and what lies ahead we do not know. If, however, the future continues to open to us blessings as have the past two years, then our endeavor will surely be worthwhile. The past two years have proved to be delightfully refreshing to us. The zeal, determination and faith of our patrons sponsoring this work, the help of the church in general, the eagerness and good will of the ministerial body of the Mennonite Churches of the Johnstown District, the encouragement of our conference leaders and the splendid attitude of our local township officials and the county superintendents all helped to make this, I say again, one of the most refresh- ing experiences of my life. I am happy to say that after these ten years, the same spirit still prevails, the work has been worthwhile and, indeed, the experience con- tinues to be delightfully refreshing. Since the next paragraph of that first message so clearly states our continuing aims and purposes, we reprint that also for emphasis. Our school was started to provide for our youth a better knowledge of the Lord Jesus Christ. In this hope we will not be disappointed. It is our desire to have everyone who attends to catch the spirit of Christian witness and live a life that will be a blessing to the church and world at large. We will not be without problems. Our aims will not be realized at any time, because we are all far short of perfection. It is the aim of each teacher, however, to train youth in accordance with the standards of the Bible as interpreted by our church, and to teach the elements of a happy life in harmony with a full Gospel. ' We are now in a period of expansion. We long to see the day when the entire building will be completed with ample facilities to do a more efficient job. We know that if we do not lose the vision that brought this school into being, we can also bring this phase of our program to a happy realization. May you, the tenth anniversary graduates, though small in number, prove to be an unusual advertisement to the cause of Christian Schools. 5 3 -rf' 8
