Handicraft Club The officers are as follows: Norma Calile. president: Rhoda Thomas. vice- president: Esther .-Xlwine. secretary-treasurer: Miss Showalter. adviser. The work we had planned for the year included sewing clothing. crocheting. knitting. stuf- fing toys. textile painting. and making hook ends. Ot course. we didn't get to nearly all of these activities. VVe helped the woodworking lioys paint their novelties. Most of our time we spent in textile painting. XVe honght a set of Prang textile paints for the clnli which can he used in lilllllft years. XVL' cut our own stencils and most ol' ns painted flower designs on hanlties. aprons, scarfs. an.l pillow cases. oodworking Club This active clnli meets in the Iohn Livingston shop near the school. Maynard Thomas is the adviser: Duane Nlishler, president: and Leonard Shetler, secretary- treasurer. At the heginning of the year the adviser showed us how to run and how to use the many machines. Erwin Harshberger supplies the club with the wood that the club needs for making their articles. Some members made broom-holders and others made novelties for the sewing classes at school. Hunting and Fishing This club, composed of a small group of enthusiastic sportsmen, engaged in such activities as: hunting ot small and large game, coon hunting, a Christmas Bird Count sponsored by the National Audubon Society, and a live-predator-killing contest with the winner receiving a free subscription to the Pennsylvania Game News. A visit to the club by the local game protector, and a day spent with him afield setting rabbit traps in closed hunting areas to secure rabbits for release, and placing corn for wild ducks was a high light of the year. The year's reward, however, was a trip to the lack Miner Bird Sanctuary, Kingsville, Ontario. Photography Club The officers of our club are as follows: president, Eva Miller, vice-president, Laura Shetlerg secretary, Ruth Thomasg treasurer, Betty Yoder, adviser, Sanford Shetler. The club is composed of seven members whose purpose is to learn how to take, develop, and print pictures. The club meets in the home of the adviser. During our club period we have been taking snapshots, developing and printing pictures.
