'Lettermen. JOHNSTOWN CHAMPS This year the Johnstown Johnnies opened a very successful season by tying Centerburg with a popular score of i3-l3. For awhile it seemed like the team was never going to top this faithful number but at the Big Walnut game the team proved that this score was not a hoax. Although we had two big upsets by Elm Valley and Richwood, the Johnnies held a victorious record throughout the 1953 gridiron sea- son. As much as we regret it, we are los- ing four of the team's lettermen who con- tributed more than their share of ability. These four seniors will be missed by the fans as well as by the team. They are as follows: Jim Piper, Bill Almendinger, Mark Hopkins, and Don Chapman.
