The doings of our performers and all the many acts were collected in an annual, which you are now reading, called the Baronet. Under the capable hands of Olivette Bunner, Editor- in-Chief, everything went together like clockwork. Helping her in write-ups were the Literary Editors, Caryl Malik, and Nancy Monahan, with Junior Editors Ingrid Kaiser and Joyce Osborne as aids. Maryruth Bellinger was in charge of all art work and Carol Slovick saw to it that the many photographs of this book were taken. Nancy Noone and Janet La Mountain took care of all the typing that was done and Terrence Willcox took care of financial business so that the circus wouldn't go in the red. Marie Finateri got sponsors in the forms of ads and Katherine Pino saw to it that everyone got his Baronet. Many other members of the staff helped make the Baronet a reality. Mr. Hannahs, without whose assistance this publi- cation would have been impossible, was the literary ringmaster. Left to right: C. Danelorich, N. Noone, L. Mazzone, C. Hunter, J. Hladik, P. Circus was covered by the news staff headed by Jeannine O'Luicci and Nancy Monahan as co-news editors. The feature aspects were covered by that staff and edited by the co-editors, Katherine Mellis and Marlene Ernst. The sports depart- ment was headed by Steve Coupas and in charge of art work and advertisements was Cynthia Weller. Business Manager, Eileen Winchell presided over the financial matters. The final step, production of the Big Top news was taken over by the Assistant Production Managers, Constance Marshall, and Patricia Danelorich. The ringmaster of the whole affair was Editor-in- Chief, Caryl Malik who was aided by the ingenuity of Mr. James Garwood. Left to right: J. O'Luicci, Mr. J. Garwood, C. Malik, C. Weller, K. Mellis. Under the capable leadership of President, Janet Campbell and with the able assistance of its new advisor, Mrs. Carolyn Barter, the Hi-Y sent girls to training centers and bill conferences. Their annual initiation night proved to be more fun than a veritable barrel of monkeys. The other offices were filled by JoAnn Robare serving as Vice President; Barbara Palumbo, who kept the minutes of the aerialists; Treasurer, Penny Corsi doing the balancing; Dolores Cioffi acting as Chap- lain; Eleanor Perry as Sergeant-at-Arms and the club reporting by Sandra Crankshaw. Most of its work then was the setting up of the principles of the club and the drawing up of a constitution. This year the Future Teachers of America, advised by Harriet B. Lorence, have really followed through with some of the plans made last year. The purpose of the club is to give high school students who wish to become teachers an idea of what teaching involves: considering a college, practice teaching, and other factors affecting the real job of a teacher in class. This has been accomplished, thus far, by guest teacher speakers, panel discussions, movies, and the actual visiting of classes in session by members of the F. T. A. In the future it may be arranged to have members take part in teaching a real class. The officers of the club this year were: President, Carol Flynn; Vice Presi- dent, Katherine Pino; Secretary, Faith Rohrs; and Treasurer, Marlene Ernst. Seated, left to right: C. Weller, K. Pino, O. Bunner. Second row: N. Monahan, G. Hale, S. Pratt, M. Sutton, C. Malik, J. Conroy, J. Campbell, C. Biscotti, Standing: D. Savage, Mile. Grewen, R. Kyea. LE CLUB de FRANCAIS ? This year some of the foreign members of our circus, from France, got together and formed an act of their own. Mile. Katherine Pino was chosen to head this troupe and Mile. Olivette Bunner was delegated to help her. Mile. Cynthia Weller was the one in charge of bills and all the money matters. Many noon hours were spent in Room 23 playing games, such as bingo, putting on skits and watching many films. Ils ont parle franca is tous les temps. Ils ont amuse tres bien. Chaque midi ils ont mange leur dejeuner avec Mile. Grewen, une tres bien professeur. Seated, left to right: J. O'Liucci, O. Bunner, C. Judy, M. Bellinger, C. Slovick, K. Pino, M. Popp, E. Under the direction of their trainer, Mr. Mil- ton Zoellner, they won that second, important, game with Gloversville by one point. We shall always re- member the fighting spirit which they showed all through the season. JAYVEE BASKETBALL Seated, left to right: Managers J. Booth, J. Wheeler, L. Doyle, V. Healey. This year the labeled barkers have worked exceptionally well in leading the cheers. During football season the Varsity was co-captained by Constance Marshall and Olivette Bunner. While the boys were racking up basketball points, Peggy Pemrick and Katherine Mellis were selected to head the squad. The two remaining members com- posing the Varsity squad were Katherine Pino and Joan Ann Conroy. Successfully selling the JV cheers were Kathy Gage, Carolyn Judy, Coleen Blood and Jane Vrooman. Their choice as captain was Marlene Ernst. Through all kinds of weather the show must go on and the cheerleaders are a fitting example of how this is done.
