E :wry 171 VALEDICTORIAN Nancy Ann Lighthall is 1951's So end three years of fun and studies in but before leaving ye old halls for destination unknown, let's take one last look at our picture album of memories. Weve had capable leadership these past three years and chose Tom Melita, presidentg Carolyn lfithtinger, secretaryg and George Zervas, treasurer, as our class officers. Our football team had a glorious season with Andy Komorny as captain and Caryl Bradt, A1 and Tom Melita, Charlie McGregor, and Cal Beekman helping to bring us to our climax as we defeated Gloversville. it 1 CLASS OFFICERS Cal Beekman, Al Melita and Caryl Bradt fcap- tainj again supported us as basketball season rolled around. Susan Heagle and George Zervas directed the work of the Bugle and B.rronetl' staffs, respec- tively, so that we've been proud of our publications. On other pages. we recall, with a big smile, our Senior Play, junior Prom, and all our other dances and activities. Much to our sorrow, the next pages are blank, since we aren't able to foretell the future. What- ever we do, we hope for luck and all the strength and power from above to lead us on to success. 'i- 'Ni SALUTATORIAN Our salutatorian is George honor student with an average of 95.06. A recipient of the Bal- four Award and Latin II prize, she also took a leading role in many activities and represented 1.1-I.S. on many occasions-all of which characterize a school career of outstanding achievement. With a good portion of the starting lineup consisting of undergraduates, the j.H.S. baseball team enjoyed a winning 1950. Paul Vavruiek and Caryl Bradt carried the brunt of the mound duties and the Willcox nine scored single vic- tories over Little Falls, Fonda, Broadalbin, Am- sterdam and Mayfield. We took Fort Plain twice. The win over Amsterdam was the game of the year as the nine came from behind to cop 11 5-4 decision and score the first victory over the Rug City outfit in 22 years. With the young team fielded in 1950 playing better than .500 ball with 7 wins and 6 losses. Coach Willcox is looking forward to an even better season in 1951. RECORD f.H.S. Opponent f,H.S. Despite lack of depth and experience last year, we enjoyed a fairly successful season under Mr. Milton Zoellner, newly appointed Track and Field Coach for Among our rivals were the Alumni, Gloversville, Saratoga, Amsterdam and Canajoharie. Topping off the year, we par- ticipated in the State Sectionals, which for the third straight year were held at Knox Field. In this meet we placed fourth among the Class B competition. This year the possible return of some of last year's veterans, such as Milan Ralbovsky, Bill Hayes, Gary Clark, Charles Wilder, Charlie Mac- Gregor, Andy Komorny, and Steve Hladik, to- gether with a high degree of enthusiasm among the new aspirants, points the way to a successful season.
