I , . , 5 , l ig QQ' . gf l FX fi ff' FE 4 i Jr .i lg. .fix GS -D. U53 For all of us in the past. now, and even those of us yet unborn, the day had come at last, ever memorable among men-the time of the Incarnation. At this moment, the shadow of the ever-lasting decree stole upon Mary. In the words of Father Faber: It was an awful moment, fully in Mary's power to refuse. How the angels must have hung on that moment! Then-3Iary's Fiat : thus had the Eternal Word begun His created life on earth. This was Mary's fulfillment of God's plan for her-this Annunciation-her vocation in life, to bring' the redemptive Christ, Incarnate God, into the lives of men. So, too, our religious, who, like Mary, received their vocation-another Annunciation -spend their energies and lives bringing' t'hrist into the lives of His youths, who so desperately have need of Him. But they. too, as Mary. can only bring Christ to their students and lay Him at their feet. As He was once laid by His mother in Betl1lehem's manger, a foodbox, symbolic of the Holy Eucharist, so He is daily laid upon the altar table in the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass. It is up to the student, as it is up to all men, to come as the shepherds or the Wise Men, following the Star of Faith, and falling' down, adore and partake of this Incarnate God. XX X dbg f - .
